We often hear “Jenny has thought of everything” Even down to spices and cooking oils. We also provide dishes and all the cookware- just bring your food.

It all started with a book purchase at an antique store in New Phildelphia, Ohio. While browsing the aisles Jenny happened upon the book, African Game Trails by Theodore Roosevelt. She picked it up for husband, Jeff. A story about Teddy Roosevelt’s hunting trips was a fascinating read about the adventures throughout East Africa, Belgian Congo, Mombassa, Khartoum and more. What Jenny found of special interest were the pictures and descriptions of the elaborate camp set ups of the time. In another camping trip with John Muir to Yosemite, the President’s men had put down 40 thick wool blankets for Roosevelt to sleep on, after that trip, Roosevelt returned to Washington refreshed and enthusiastic about conserving America’s forests and its wilderness areas. He pushed Congress to pass laws to protect the wild lands. He also transferred the responsibility of looking after the forest reserves to the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 1905 by establishing the U.S. Forest Service. Roosevelt created national monuments, parks, and wildlife sanctuaries—saving approximately 230 million acres of public land for all Americans for all time. So in Jenny’s opinion, our 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt was the “Original Glamper”!
